Sometime ago, I read a book about a beggar that was sitting on top of a treasure and keep begin for alms. He didn’t know that he was sitting on top of pure gold. But he told his siblings that if he dies, they should bury him on the same spot. After his death, they were actually preparing the ground to bury him in that same spot. While they were digging his grave, they discovered a treasure just three feet from the ground level. Everybody wept and pitied the man. He was sitting on top of pure gold, begging for alms without discovering what lie beneath him.

My prayer for every one of us is that we won’t die before we discover the treasure God deposited in us. The scripture says, “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure” – Job 36:11. Third John, chapter two puts it this way: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.” On your journey to the Promised Land, if you think like Lazarus, you can never find yourself in the bosom of Abraham. Apostle Johnson Suleman said, “God is not against you having money but God is against money having you.” When God wants to prosper a man, He does not carry out the transaction externally in the form of physical cash but He does it internally through divine ideas. That was what he did in the case of Daniel, Joseph and Jacob. We belong to the lineage of Abraham; we cannot have a rich ancestor and died a pauper.

In your journey in life, it is your inner capacity that determines your outer capability. When you remain in the Lord, you can never lack supply – the supply of resources, supply of gifts, supply of talent, supply of inspiration and the supply of finance to achieve your purpose. There are treasures in you that hold your wealth, fame and stardom; until you discover and unveil it, you can never arrive at the position God prepared for you. Gideon was a-nobody until the angel approached him and said, “Go with this your might….” From that day onward, he began to do exploit for the Lord. You need to unlock yourself to materials, environment, books, seminars, tapes and people that will help you to discover your destiny.
